APP is hitting the road this fall and visiting our members. Catch up with us at a city near you!
Regional Roadshows are APP's more casual live seminars. Each takes place in one day across the country. Typically we host 3 a year and try to reach new areas every year. At $75, these are incredible ways to get your staff steeped into payments knowledge without breaking your budget.

Each Regional Roadshow is a full day of sessions covering trends, hot topics, and deep-dive discussions. APP Regional events are an excellent chance for you or a teammate to stay informed on industry topics in between attending APP's annual conference, Level Up. The last segment is always APP's famous Roundtable - time and space set aside for members to share challenges, ask questions, and collaborate by sharing best practices.

The ACH Network and Your Role in Risk Management If you’re a member of APP, your company is likely involved in ACH in one way or another. Third-Party Senders facilitate ACH payments between businesses and their customers. Merchant Acquirers, even those that don’t offer ACH payment facilitation to their merchants, settle using the ACH Network. Almost all companies are Originators for their own transactions. You have a responsibility to your company, your customers, and to the ACH Network to practice good risk management. Join Jordan to discuss controls and practices that can identify, mitigate, and prevent fraud at your organization. |

Emerging Impacts of Ideological Views: The Politicization of Payments The payments landscape is undergoing a profound transformation, increasingly shaped by policy direction, political momentum, and an evolving enforcement posture. From the fragmentation of state regimes—such as legislation surrounding MCC 5723—to the federal directive prohibiting the use of "reputational risk" in bank examinations, industry participants face a complex web of regulatory uncertainty. As state legislators and federal agencies increasingly influence the flow of commerce through the lens of ideological alignment, financial institutions and payment providers face a complex, often contradictory compliance environment. This panel will examine the shifting dynamics of "debanking," the intersection of constitutional protections with business practices, FTC enforcement and judicial challenges that are redefining risk-based decisioning for banks, Fintechs, and merchant service providers, and the strategic implications of new federal directives regarding reputational risk. Moderator: Robyn Mitchell, Chief Compliance Officer, North

Beyond Pharma: Opportunities and Pitfalls of Expanding into High-Risk Categories Pharmaceuticals, telemedicine, and supplements get most of the attention in high-risk payments conversations — but they're far from the only categories worth watching. For acquirers, ISOs, and PayFacs willing to do the work, several other high-risk verticals represent some of the highest-margin opportunities in the market. What comes with that margin? Compliance requirements, card brand exposure, and regulatory complexity that are equally elevated. This session digs into three categories that are generating significant compliance activity, triggering card network fines, and creating real risk for payment providers who aren't paying attention: firearms and weapons, gambling and gaming, and generative AI services. We'll share what LegitScript is seeing across these verticals, the trends driving increased scrutiny, and what it takes to operate in them without landing in BRAM or VIRP violations. Andy Bayley, Sr. Product Counsel, Research & Data, LegitScript |
