APP Roadshow - West Regional

APP is coming to Utah for the first time!

Please join us in the Salt Lake City area for the West Regional (specifically in Orem). This event will be a full day of sessions covering trends, hot topics, and deep-dive discussions in the risk and compliance industry. APP Regional events are an excellent chance for your organization to stay informed on industry topics in between attending APP's annual conferences. The last segment is always our famous Roundtable - time and space set aside for members to share challenges, ask questions, and collaborate by sharing best practices.

9:15 AM - 10:00 AM "MLMs: Fact, Fiction or Myth" Two Direct Marketing experts will help unravel some of the mysteries surrounding Multi Level Marketing. Learn how it can be a rewarding vertical to consider by creating a compliant program.
10:00 AM - 10:45 AM "Are You Scared of VAMPires? A Preview of Visa's New Monitoring Program" We will take a look at the new VAMP guidelines, the impact it will have on merchants down the road, and some of the Visa products that are designed to help.
10:45 AM - 11:00 AM Donut Break APP was started 27 years ago with the founders gathering around coffee and donuts to collaborate on common challenges and fraud trends. We keep the tradition alive at every event with donuts for all!
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM "Live Hack - Breaking an iFrame" If you have any feelings that PCI DSS 4.0 ecommerce enhancements were unnecessary, don’t miss this presentation. You will learn that new requirements are a direct result of new hacker tactics. This presentation uses a live website to demonstrate a new attack methodology against iFrames. A second website not only demonstrates that this attack methodology isn't specific to any vendor's iFrame solution, but a third also illustrates its application to an even more devious attack approach.
11:45 AM - 12:00 PM Knowledge Burst Topic presented by SecurityMetrics: "How Merchants Can Prepare for and Respond to a Data Breach" Your merchants can’t afford to be unprepared for a data breach’s aftermath. It’s up to your merchants to control the situation and protect their brand in the wake of a data breach’s potentially devastating hold on reputation.

This presentation will discuss how merchants can successfully stop information from being stolen, mitigate further damage, and restore operations as quickly as possible.

1:00 PM - 1:45 PM "The 3 R's of Merchant Review - Risk, Reserve, Release" What Risk does the merchant pose to the ISO/Acquirer: industry, credit, past processing, location, business model?

Based on these metrics: how would taking a reserve come in for consideration, what is a typical calculation, how long would reserve be held?

For periodic review: what are some best practices, is there a set schedule, would release of reserve be considered, what circumstances would constitute termination?
1:45 PM - 2:30 PM Regulatory Updates This session will provide a regulatory update with an eye on Federal, State, and Payment Network changes in both recent and near future.
