M@Cademy FAQs

• Developed based on member feedback and requests.
• Online, asynchronous courses – with a community group
• Initial courses will primarily be focused on introductory and intermediate content
• Courses will have an assessment component.  The assessment will unlock once you have gone through the course content.

• We are working on additional courses.  Many of these are listed in the M@Cademy Course Catalog.
• We need volunteers and SMEs to help develop, review and test course content before it goes live.  Our goal in this first year of M@Cademy is to deliver 2-4 new courses roughly every three months.  

• The initial cost will be $99/course for members $125/course for non-members
• As we add courses, we will make multi-course purchase options available.
• We can make larger, multi-employee purchase options available at a discount.  Please contact us and we will work with you to address your needs.

• Unfortunately, once a course within M@Cademy is accessed, we are no longer able to provide a refund.

What is Brightspace?

• APP is using D2L's Brightspace environment to host M@Cademy.  Once purchased, you will receive an email from the Brightspace environment with your username and login credentials. 
• At that point, you can access courses you purchased using:
  • the confirmation link provided by email
  • by going directly to macademy.brightspace.com and logging in
  • following the link under Order History on your Member Compass within your APP account

• At that point, you can access courses you purchased using:

• Yes.  This course is asynchronous.  You may access it as many times as you like and may retake the assessment at the end of the course as well for a period of at least 12 months.
• All minor course updates will be reflected on the course as soon as they are available.  Eventually, we may retire a course from service or replace it with an updated course offering.  

• M@Cademy employs a single-user license agreement.  Sharing access to your account is against the terms and conditions of this offering and could result in the termination of your access to a course. 
• Any credits offered relative to a course, or records applied to an educational transcript are on a one-to-one basis with the individual who acquired the course.
• We can establish multi-employee access to a course for a member organization at a reduced price.  Please contact-us to discuss this option.

• While courses have been reviewed and we attempt to ensure there are no errors, they can occur. 
  • This is particularly true for courses on topics where the legal, regulatory, card brand rules, or other elements might be changing frequently.  Courses will undergo periodic reviews for currency and accuracy.
  • Sometimes organizations (and subject matter experts) in different areas of the industry may use terms or concepts differently or follow different practices.  For this reason, one of the goals of M@Cademy is to work toward a more common language and understanding of key concepts across the payments industry when it comes to risk and compliance activities.  
• If you find something within a course that you believe to be incorrect, or that you believe could be clarified or explained better, please let us know.  We value any input that will improve the educational offerings for the payments community. 
• Within courses there is also a discussion community.  Questions may be entered here.  Volunteers and other course participants will see these postings and may provide a response.  If you have a subject matter-related question that does not get answered, please contact us and we will refer your question to the correct volunteer SME.
