The Company
The company is a privately held payments and technology company with over 20 years of operating history, new ownership since 2022. The company operates with a flat organizational structure and an entrepreneurial, low-bureaucracy culture. The company has multiple product lines, including payment processing, POS solutions, and a recently acquired and redeveloped gateway.
The business generates approximately $17–18M in annual revenue, with a near-term goal of exceeding $20M. Revenue is driven primarily through ISO and agent partnerships, serving restaurant and retail merchants nationwide. Over the past two years, the company has invested significantly in rebuilding its technology, strengthening partnerships, and stabilizing operations. As a result, the organization is now positioned for sustained growth rather than recovery.
With approximately 80 staff members (including contractors), the company maintains a 50/50 remote and onsite workforce, with product and technology teams based in the headquarter office. Many employees have long tenures, and the culture values accountability, collaboration, and hands-on leadership.
The Opportunity
The company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through its next phase of growth and scale. This individual will step into a well-refined organization with improved products, strengthened relationships, and positive momentum across sales and retention.
The CEO will be responsible for setting strategic direction, driving revenue growth, scaling teams, and preparing the business for long-term value creation.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, go-to-market experience, and the ability to be physically present with teams to support engagement, execution, and culture.
Responsibilities
• Define and execute the company’s growth strategy across all product lines.
• Lead and develop a management team of 10+ direct reports (department heads).
• Drive revenue growth through product expansion, partnerships, and market execution.
• Oversee go-to-market strategy for POS, gateway, and payments offerings.
• Strengthen and scale ISO, agent, and reseller relationships.
• Ensure operational excellence across sales, technology, support, and finance.
• Serve as the primary liaison to ownership and the Board, providing monthly financial and performance reporting.
• Foster a high-performance culture while maintaining the company’s flat, non-bureaucratic structure.
• Guide the continued development of an integrated, agnostic payments and technology platform.
• Lead succession and transition planning to ensure stability for employees and partners.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
• Proven executive leadership experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or adjacent industries.
• Demonstrated success scaling a business or product from early or mid-stage to significant revenue growth. (e.g., from single-digit millions to $20M+ or beyond.)
• Strong go-to-market experience, including product launches, sales scaling, and partnership development.
• Experience building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
• Comfort managing both strategy and execution.
• Willingness and ability to be onsite regularly, or travel frequently to support teams.
