Position Summary:  The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for identifying potential financial losses the company may face by effectively analyzing and acting on merchant accounts that expose Payscout to unnecessary business risk. The successful applicant will be a subject matter expert on identifying irregularities in data patterns and working with merchants to obtain documentation required to resolve adverse actions. The role will also require the Senior Risk Analyst to assist with building, maintaining and updating Risk processes. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.

●     Investigate high risk or suspicious transaction activity with Merchants, Processors and/or Acquirers to determine the proper action.

●     Collaborate with peers and management to implement system/process improvements.

●     Manage Reporting to Management, Executives, Banks, and Card Brands.

●     Assist Risk Manager in compliance audits for sponsor banks, regulators and card brands.

●     Conduct merchant interviews for possible fraud.

●     Conduct daily due diligence and risk monitoring to mitigate and prevent losses.

●     Conduct Merchant Periodic Reviews when needed.

●     Effectively communicate with Merchants, Agent Offices and Bank Solutions via email and phone.

●       Review various incoming account change requests or emails submitted by the Merchant, Agent Offices and internal teams.

●     Place, review and remove merchants as part of daily reviews on active hold pay, reserve or potential termination.

●     Perform a variety of risk review tasks and support as needed.

●     Escalate any concerns/issues to the Risk Manager accordingly.

Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, and five or more years of related experience.

Language Ability:

●     Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

●     Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

●     Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

●     Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry fundamentals.

●     Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

●     Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

●     Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Database Software and Contact Management.
